Do AirPods scratch easily?

As an AirPods owner, I know the worry of them getting scratched or damaged too easily. I’ve had my own AirPods for a while now and I was starting to get frustrated with how quickly they seemed to be deteriorating. To try and solve the problem, I did some research and testing to see how easily AirPods scratch and whether there are any solutions to prevent it. In this blog post, I’m here to share what I discovered and the steps I took to protect my AirPods from any further damage.

In practice, it should be difficult to scratch the AirPods themselves if you leave them in the case whenever you are not using them. The only time you might scratch them is if you drop them. If you are careful with the AirPods, it is likely that you will be able to avoid significantly scratching them.

Simply by leaving the AirPods in the case, when you are not using them, is enough to avoid scratching them significantly.

All you have to do really is to avoid dropping them. However, it is likely that you will scratch the AirPods case, since it can be scratched and it is the case that will be vulnerable to scratches from keys, being dropped or placed on a rough surface.

Quick Tips
Leaving the AirPods in the case when not in use is the best way to avoid scratching them.
The AirPods case is more likely to get scratched than the AirPods themselves.
AirPods are durable and not likely to scratch easily with regular use.
It is unlikely that people will notice scratches on the AirPods.

Do AirPods scratch easily?

AirPods can scratch easily if you push them along a rough or sharp surface.

However, in practice, it should be easy for you to avoid scratching the AirPods themselves, since the only time they should be vulnerable to getting scratched is when they are in your ear.

If you make sure to leave the AirPods in the case, when you are not using them, and avoid dropping them, it is likely that you will be able to avoid scratching your AirPods.

It is not likely that you will scratch the AirPods while they are in the case because the material on the inside of the case is not harder than the material on the AirPods.

However, you might scratch them if there is debris in the case.

Also, it is perfectly fine to leave your AirPods in the case because the AirPods are designed to stop charging once they reach 100%, so you do not need to worry about overcharging them.

With all that being said, it won’t be so easy for people to tell if your AirPods are scratched anyway. So, for the most part, it is not such a big deal if your AirPods do get scratched.

How to avoid scratching AirPods

The easiest way to avoid scratching AirPods is to leave them in the case when you are not using them and to try to avoid dropping them.

It would also help to make sure that there are no debris in the case that might scratch the AirPods. If you do that, your AirPods should stay relatively scratch-free.

Does the AirPods case scratch easily?

It is a lot easier to scratch the AirPods case than it is to scratch the AirPods themselves. This is because the case is exposed to scratches from things like keys and being placed on rough surfaces.

With regular use, you should expect the AirPods case to get some scratches.

However, this is only cosmetic and will not cause the case to stop working properly and most people won’t care anyway.

In order to limit how much your AirPods case gets scratched, it would help to avoid putting in the same pocket that you are keeping your keys.

Do AirPod Pros scratch easily?

In my experience, with regular use, AirPod Pros don’t scratch easily. If you make sure to put them in the case, whenever you are not using them, it should be relatively easy for you to avoid scratching them.

Are AirPods durable?

Your AirPods are some of the most durable accessories Apple has ever created.

While Apple doesn’t list an official status for how high you can drop them from, drop tests online have repeatedly dropped individual AirPods from Heights of 10 feet or more onto concrete without them being damaged at all. Also, it is rare for them to start falling apart with regular use.

Your AirPods are made out of a high-quality plastic, silicon, end of extremely light.

These three factors come together to me that even if you drop them from incredibly high heights, they’re still going to have very soft landings.

With that being said, they are not waterproof, so care must be taken to avoid allowing them to get wet.
