Do AirPods use data?
AirPods themselves are Bluetooth earphones, so they do not directly use data.
However, you can use data with AirPods by making use of Siri to do things such as check the weather or other things that require an internet or cellular connection.
Also, there are some features that you won’t be able to make use of without data or an internet connection.
It will not be possible to use Siri to do things that require an internet or cellular connection such as make a call. It will also not be possible to use AirPods to make a call since that also requires a cellular connection.
However, it will still be possible to make use of Siri to do things such as change the volume since that does not require an internet connection.
If you are using Android or a non-Apple device, your AirPods will also work perfectly fine without a cellular or internet connection as long as they are able to connect to your device via Bluetooth.
All features of AirPods that require an internet or cellular connection such as interacting with Siri for internet based requests or using Find my iPhone are not actually possible with Android devices at all.
So, there will actually be no difference when using AirPods with an Android device without a cellular or an internet connection.

Do AirPods use WIFI or Bluetooth?
AirPods and AirPods Pro use Bluetooth to connect to your devices.
AirPods and AirPods Pro do not directly connect to the internet. Anything AirPods do that does use the internet will actually be through your phone.
For example, updating their location on Find My iPhone or when using Siri for internet-based things.

Do AirPods work without WIFI?
AirPods work perfectly fine without a WIFI connection. AirPods only need to be connected to your devices via Bluetooth in order to work.
However, it will not be possible to use your AirPods to do things that do require an internet connection such as to use Facetime, get Siri to do internet-based things or listen to music that requires an internet connection.
