Charging Your Powerbeats Pro
When you unbox your Powerbeats Pro, you find two earbuds and a charging case.
With a little extra inspection, you start to see the different parts of the case. There are grooves that perfectly fit the earbuds.
Inside each groove, you can clearly see a pair of pins. These are usually metallic and stand straight up.
If you take a look at the earbuds, you’ll find contact plates that align with these pins. Placing the earbuds in the correct position will close a circuit, and they begin charging.
In turn, this means that you must have the charging case with the correct pins for this to work.
What to Do if You Misplace Your Charging Case?
Losing any of your belongings is never fun. This is especially true when you need that object to make a device function.
Without your Powerbeats Pro charging case, there’s no way to supply the earbuds with power. That means that as soon as they run out of juice, you can no longer use them.
At this point, you may feel a little helpless, but don’t worry; there’s hope. There are a few things you can do if you lose your charging case.
Download the ‘Find My’ App
One of the first issues most people have with wireless headphones is misplacing the parts. They’re so tiny that keeping track of them may be difficult.
To get around this, the Powerbeats Pro comes with a locator. You can use the Find My app to help you track down your case.
You can make full use of this function by following these steps:
- Connect your earbuds to your phone.
- Go to your app store and enter Find My in the search bar.
- Download and install the app on your device.
- Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
- Launch the Find My app.
- Click on the Devices tab.
- Locate your Powerbeats Pro in the list of available connections.
- Tap on the device and follow the instructions.
With this app, you have access to a few different features. The first, and most important, is a tracker.
This function allows you to see the location of your Powerbeats Pro for up to 24 hours. After that, it’ll display the last place where the headphones were online.
As for the second feature, the app also allows you to mark the device as lost. That means the device won’t be usable until you can locate it and switch off find mode.
Use iCloud
iCloud can provide a similar service to the Find My app. This is a much better option if you’re using a laptop or a personal computer.
To use this method, follow these steps:
- Link your earbuds to your device.
- Connect your device to Wi-Fi.
- Go to the iCloud Find page.
- Enter your account and password.
- Navigate to the Devices page.
- Click on your Powerbeats Pro.
- Follow the online instructions.
The map that loads should be able to show you the exact location of the case.
Contact Apple Support
If you tried the other methods with no luck, it might be time to look up the device’s serial number. There are three ways you can go about doing this:
- Find the serial number on the side of one of the earbuds.
- Download the Beats app and find your device details.
- Search the original Powerbeats Pro packaging next to the barcode.
With the serial number, you can contact Apple Support. They can offer you a couple of solutions. First off, they’ll try to locate the case for you.
When that doesn’t work, they can send you a new one for a fee. You have to file paperwork and go through red tape, but you get the case at a lower price.
Still, sometimes you don’t have the luxury of time. In that case, you can choose to order a replacement online.
