How to Get Apple Music Playlist in Alphabetical Order?

If you’re like me and you’ve been struggling to get your Apple Music playlists organized in alphabetical order, you’re not alone. As an Apple Music user, I have spent countless hours trying to figure out the best way to make sure my playlists are listed in the order I want them to be. After a lot of trial and error, I’ve finally found a few tips and tricks that have worked for me and I’m excited to share them with you in this blog post. My goal is to help make your Apple Music experience easier and more organized.

Whether you’re dealing with an iPhone or a MacBook, sorting your playlists in a preferred order can be easily done. Most of the time, they’re organized in alphabetical order by default. If not, you can open the Apple Music app and select the sorting option to rearrange the playlists.

Tips
1. You can sort Apple Music playlists alphabetically on iPhone and MacBook.
2. To sort on iPhone: open Apple Music, select Library, choose Playlist, tap “Sort” in upper right corner, and select “Title”.
3. To sort on MacBook: open Apple Music, select Playlist, choose “View”, click “Sort by”, and then select “Name”.
4. Add letters or punctuation marks to the beginning of the playlist name to make it appear at the top.
5. On MacBook, create folders to organize playlists.

How to Get Apple Music Playlist in Alphabetical Order on iPhone

The Apple Music app for iOS has been redesigned several times in recent years, each time more intuitive, streamlined, and powerful. Yet one aspect of the app has changed very little over time: the order in which your playlists appear.

Whether you’re using an iPhone or a MacBook, you can easily sort your playlists to appear in a certain order. And if your playlists start with the same letters, there are ways for you to get around that!

First things first, here’s how to create a playlist.

Step One: Creating a Playlist

The shuffle feature on your Apple Music isn’t much help when it keeps repeating the same songs. Thankfully, you can create playlists to suit your energy.

Here’s how:

  • Head to your app drawer and open the Apple Music App
  • Tap on “Library”
  • Choose “Playlist”
  • Press on “New Playlist”
  • Name the playlist anything you like
  • Tap “Add Music” to add your favorite songs
  •  Select  “Done” once you’re finished

Step Two: Organize Your Playlists’ Order

Now that you have a couple of playlists in your library, you can start sorting them out in the way you like.

Just follow these steps:

  • Open the Apple Music App on your iPhone
  • Tap “Library”
  • Head to “Playlists”
  • Tap on the “Sort” button in the upper right corner
  • From the various options, choose “Title” to sort your playlists alphabetically by playlist title

Note: you should know that this doesn’t affect the music order inside the playlist itself. Once you look inside, you’ll find that all songs appear just as they are.

How to Get Apple Music Playlist in Alphabetical Order on MacBook

Similar to the iPhone’s two steps, you’ll need to first create a couple of playlists before you head on to organizing them.

Step One: Create a Playlist on your Macbook

Creating playlists on your MacBook is relatively easy.

Here’s how:

  • Open your MacBook and head straight to the Apply Music App
  • Click on “File” in the menu bar
  • Choose “New”
  • Click on “Playlist”
  • Give your playlist a name; then choose the music you want to add

Step Two: Organise the Playlists on Your Macbook

Luckily, the playlists on the Music App in your MacBook will usually appear in alphabetical order. However, some users complained that this order could get a little messed up or doesn’t work.

Here’s how to solve this issue:

  • Open your MacBook
  • Select “Playlist”
  • Choose “View”
  • Click “Sort by”
  • Pick “Name”

Once you’ve done that, all your playlists should be in alphabetical order.

How to Get Your Favorite Playlist on Top

It can sometimes be hard to find the playlist you want when so many of them start with the same letter. Fortunately, there are a few tricks that could help keep your favorite list on top and not hidden under others!

Add Letters or Punctuation Marks

If your playlists are still not organized the way you want, or if you have too many of them that start similarly, you can add a few things. For example, you can add an “A” before a playlist’s name to make it appear at the top of your list.

Better yet, you can use punctuation marks like a full stop or an exclamation mark before the name. For instance, you can name the playlist !work playlist. This will place it at the top for easy access.

Use Folders

There’s a neat trick on your MacBook’s Music app: you can organize all your playlists into folders. Sadly, you can’t do this on the iPhone. By creating a folder, you can place all of the playlists you want to keep separate from the rest of your music library in one place.

Conclusion

So, how to get Apple Music playlist in alphabetical order? Easy! Just start out by creating all the playlists you want, and then press the magical “Sort by” button.

Hopefully, you can utilize the tips above to sort your playlists alphabetically and enjoy the benefits of a better music listening experience.
