How to stop devices from connecting to my Samsung TV?

As an owner of a Samsung TV, I was getting frustrated with all the devices that were connecting to it without my permission. After doing some research and testing, I’m here to share how I solved the problem and some other solutions I discovered that may help you too.

First, go to your TV Settings. Click General, followed by Network. In the Network menu, click External Device Manager and scroll to the last option, called Device Connect Manager. Then, you should see a list of all devices connected or trying to connect to your TV. Select any unwanted devices and select the Denied option.

How to stop devices from connecting to my Samsung TV?

The most common and simplest way of stopping devices from connecting to your Samsung TV is by going to the Settings menu on your TV, selecting General, then selecting Network. Once you’re in the Network menu, click on External Device Manager and scroll down to the option tabled Device Connect Manager.

Selecting this should bring you to a list of all the devices which are currently connected or are trying to connect to your TV.

Choose an unwanted device and click the Denied option when prompted. Your changes will be saved automatically, so you can simply exit the menu once you’re done.

How to stop smart devices from popping up on my Samsung Smart TV?

In the Smart Hub overlay, select the Menu button or the Settings icon. From there, select General. Select External Device Manager, followed by Device Connection Manager.

From there you should be able to see if Access Notifications are switched on or off. To stop the pop-ups, simply switch the notifications off from here.

How do I unlink a device from my Samsung Smart TV?

To unlink a device, open the SmartThings app and tap the Devices tab. Make sure you’re viewing all devices or are in the Location that has the device you’d like to unlink.

Click Edit followed by the device you’d like to remove, then simply tap Delete to confirm.

How do I stop pairing my phone to my TV?

To turn off casting from your phone to your TV, go into your TV’s settings and select Connected Devices. Then, simply choose the device you’d like to disconnect.

Depending on your phone, another option is to open the Settings app and touch Network & Internet. From there you should be able to tap Cast, then turn off the Cast feature to disconnect the devices.

Can I turn off the Bluetooth on my Samsung TV?

Yes. To do this, you’ll have to navigate through a few menus. First go to Menu, then select System, then the Wireless Connections option, and finally Bluetooth Devices. From this screen, you should be able to select Turn Off.

How to turn off Bluetooth pairing on a Samsung Smart TV?

First, navigate to the Network and Accessories menu. When clicked, the Devices list will appear.

To unpair a device, simply select it and click the unchecked box next to it. Bluetooth pairing should now be disabled for that device.
