There is nothing like the convenience of taking a call on your Apple AirPods. You can answer it at will, without even picking up your iPhone.

When a call comes in, away you go with the talking happening in the Apple AirPods and the microphone picking you up with no issues at all.

There is a lot of technology in the Apple AirPods. What do you do if you do not want to have the microphone of the Apple AirPods on?

You may not want it for privacy reasons, or just so Siri does not pick up your voice. It is possible, but it takes some learning to get there.

How to Turn Off AirPods Mic?

There are a few different ways that you can turn off the microphone on the Apple AirPods and Apple AirPods Pro devices.  

if you want to turn off the microphone on the Apple AirPods during a call, all you need to do is to bring up the active call screen and hit the mute button. This will disable the microphone so no voice is heard on the other end from you.

If you want to turn off the microphone from active listening, that is done through the settings. The way you will do this is to go onto your iPhone or iPad into the “Settings” area. From there, click on “Bluetooth” and then find the AirPods in your list of devices. Click on the information icon and then “Microphone.”

Once you are on this screen, you can then go to voice control and turn off whether the AirPods will listen to your voice for Siri, Voice Control, or anything like that.

How Can I Mute my AirPods Mic?

The easiest way to mute the Apple AirPods and the Apple AirPods Pro devices is through the lock screen of your iPhone or iPad device. When you have the active call on your screen, you can click on the mute or unmute icon quickly and easily.

How to Turn Off AirPods Pro Mic?

The process is the exact same as mentioned above for regular AirPods.

How Do I Adjust the Microphone on the AirPods?

You have some unique abilities with the Apple AirPods. One of these abilities is to actually change which AirPod is going to have the active microphone.

Apple figured that you would not always have both AirPods in your ears at the same time. They knew there would be scenarios where you have just one AirPod.

If you have just one of the Apple AirPods in your ears, it could be that you only have the left or the right ear.  

With the Apple AirPods, you have the ability to change the active AirPod microphone. The default setting on the Apple AirPods is to switch between the left or the right AirPod depending on which one is in the ear. You can change it so that it is fixed to just one side.

To do this, you go into the Bluetooth settings on your iPhone. With the Apple AirPods having an active connection, you can click on the “i” symbol on the AirPods tab. From there you can go to the Microphone setting and choose the preference that will work for you.

How Do I Turn On My AirPod Microphone?

To turn on the Apple AirPods microphone you are doing the exact same steps as you would do when you mute it. If you are in a call, pull up your iPhone or iPad and go to the call to hit the unmute button.

If you want to turn on Active Voice Control, it is by going into the Bluetooth settings of the Apple AirPods and then switching them on for automatic listening.
