How To Turn On Or Off Subtitles On Disney Plus With Roku?
You have a few options when it comes to enabling or disabling subtitles on Disney Plus with Roku.
All of the options to toggle subtitles on and off will be in the Roku menus not in the Disney Plus menus.
You can go into settings and accessibility to change subtitles on all Roku devices and newer Roku devices can change subtitles on the fly by pressing up or down on the remote.
Here’s how you can change subtitles on Disney Plus and using the Roku menu.

- Resume watching your favorite shows
Here’s how you can change subtitles on Disney Plus using the Roku remote.
- Press Up or Down on your Roku remote
- Find the “Audio & Subtitles” menu

The last thing to know is that you can enable and disable captions options by pressing “Replay” on your Roku remote.
This only works if you have the “Captions on Replay” setting enabled. This setting turns the Replay button into a button that changes your captions settings.
Turning on subtitles with Disney Plus on Roku
You can enable Disney Plus subtitles in the menu of your Roku device.
Disney Plus subtitles can be turned on by entering the Settings menu and then entering Accessibility and selecting your captions preferences.
Newer Roku devices can enable subtitles while you watch shows by pressing up or down on your Roku remote and selecting the “Audio & Subtitles” menu.
There’s one more thing you need to know. Subtitles are enabled in the Roku streaming device’s menu, not in the Disney Plus menu.
Turning off subtitles with Disney Plus on Roku
You have a few options for turning off your subtitles while using your Roku device.
Disney subtitles can be turned off on newer Roku devices by pressing up or down on your Roku remote and selecting the “Audio & Subtitles” menu.
You can also go to Settings, Accessibility, and Captions to enable or disable captions on your Roku device.
Here’s one thing to keep in mind. You can only enable or disable captions while playing Disney Plus shows on newer Roku devices.
Older Roku devices will require you to pause the show and go into the Roku settings in order to change the captions.
Why Aren’t Disney Subtitles Working With Roku?
The reason that Disney subtitles are not working with your Roku device is most likely because the subtitles have been turned off.
You can turn on the subtitles on your Roku device by going to settings, accessibility, and selecting the right options you want for your captions.
Remember, captions need to be enabled or they won’t play even if you have caption preferences selected.
Roku has another option that might be causing your captions to stay off.
If you select “captions on replay,” captions will only appear when you press the replay button on your Roku remote while watching your favorite shows.
Does Disney Plus Have Subtitles With Roku?
Disney Plus has subtitles with Roku. Subtitles are created by the companies and artists that make the shows themselves.
This means that every Disney Plus program is going to have subtitles that come with it.
Whether or not your Roku device is capable of displaying subtitles is another question altogether.
Most Roku devices can display the subtitles, but there are Roku devices that can’t play Disney content and therefore can’t play subtitles on Disney shows.

Almost every Roku device is able to stream Disney Plus TV shows and movies. However, there are a few Roku models that can not stream Disney Plus.
