Why isn’t double tap working on my AirPods?

As an AirPods owner, I have become increasingly frustrated over the past months with an issue I have been having with my AirPods: double-tapping does not work! After countless attempts to try and troubleshoot the issue, I decided to take matters into my own hands and do some research. After some testing, I believe I have finally solved the issue and I am here to share with you what I discovered.

In this blog post, I will discuss why double-tapping isn’t working on my AirPods and provide some solutions that may help you if you are facing the same issue.

Likely reasons why double-tap is not working on your AirPods are that your AirPods are out of battery, you need to reset and reconnect them, or you are not tapping them correctly. Also, you are actually meant to squeeze on the stem of AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro.

– AirPods 1 and 2 require double tapping on the top of the outside of the AirPods, while AirPods 3 and AirPods Pro require squeezing on the bottom of the stem.
– Try resetting and reconnecting the AirPods to fix the double tap issue.
– If double tapping still does not work, consider taking them to an Apple store to get them checked.
