Why won’t my AirPods pop up on the screen when opened?

Apple continues to be one of the biggest brands on planet Earth. As a company, it continues to create new products, introduce new concepts to folks, and change the way we live our lives. One of the products that did just that not long ago was the Apple AirPods.

The AirPods and the AirPods Pro have become one of the biggest selling products in the history of the company. If you are an owner, you are bound to come into a hiccup now and then.

One of the most common is when you have AirPods that will not pop up on your Apple iPhone, iMac, or iPad screen when the case is open.

The issue with the pop-up is not new. It has been happening since the first generation of the Apple AirPods and even occurs today with the newer AirPod Pro model.

There are some tips and tricks you can try, though, to get the AirPods to pop up on your screen when you open them. Taking steps to fix this will help you get them functioning as you would expect again.

How to Get AirPods to Pop Up on the Screen?

Do you own a set of Apple AirPods? Are you wondering how you get them to pop up on your Apple iPhone, Apple iMac, or Apple iPad screen? There is a bit of a process to follow to make this happen for the first time.

When you first get your AirPods, the initial task you have set before you is to pair them with your Apple device. You want to bring the AirPods close to your Apple iPhone, Mac, or iPad and then open up the lid of the device.

When you do this, your Apple device should sense that there is a pair of AirPods that are ready to be connected. You can then go through the process of pairing the Apple AirPods and AirPod Pro devices with your Apple device.

When you have a finishing point with the pair, you are going to have a working pair of Apple AirPod headphones ready to go. Now, when you bring the AirPods near your device and open the lid, they should pop up on your iPhone, Mac, or iPad screen.

What you should see on the screen includes the battery health of the earbuds as well as the case itself. You can also change settings such as the audio settings of the headphones once they are fully paired. The AirPods Pro devices will let you alter noise cancellation, for example.

Why Won’t AirPods Show Battery Pop Up When Open Case?

What should you do if your AirPods do not show up when you open the case? There are several different things that you can try to fix the problem. You will want to take it one step at a time to try and troubleshoot everything to identify the root cause.

The first and easiest fix you need to try is to just charge up the AirPods. You want to plug the case in and also have the earbuds inside of the case at the same time.

This will allow you to ensure they have a full charge when you go to connect them to the corresponding Apple device, such as the iPhone or the iPad. If you know you have a full charge and are still having issues, try something else.

One of the other ideas you can do is to go to the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings on your Apple device.

Turn off the Bluetooth s well as the Wi-Fi connections. Once you turn them off, wait a few seconds and then toggle them back on.

This may allow the Apple AirPods to reconnect.

Another option is to go into the Bluetooth settings of your iPhone, Mac, or iPad and actually “forget” the AirPods.

This will allow you to set up the AirPods as a brand new device once again. By doing this, you will re-sync the headphones and you may get them to pop back up on the screen.

How to See the AirPods Battery Percentage?

If you are still not seeing the pop-up from the Apple AirPods on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can try a few other things.

The battery percentage is critical as you want to be able to see how much life is left on the AirPods.

Try restarting the Apple device. Restart the iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You may find that by doing a reset, you correct a known software glitch that is causing problems with the connection.

If all else fails, try resetting all of the network settings on an iPhone. You can do this in the settings portion of the iPhone where you can go to general and then reset the network settings. You can then set up your Wi-Fi connection once again to fix the AirPods.
