Why Your Powerbeats Pro Won’t Reset

As an owner of the Powerbeats Pro, I know all too well the frustration of trying to reset the device and having it fail. After spending countless hours trying to figure out a solution, I’ve decided to write this blog post to share what I’ve learned and other solutions that have worked for others.

This could be due to an empty battery or some firmware issues. However, it can also be because of a faulty device.

Tips
Resetting your Powerbeats Pro is the easiest way to fix audio and syncing issues.
Make sure your Powerbeats Pro battery isn’t empty when attempting to reset.
Check for any firmware updates that could be causing the issue.
Inspect the charging case pins to make sure they’re not damaged.

How to Reset Powerbeats Pro

When Powerbeats Pro are functioning normally, you have total control over both earbuds. You can change the volume, skip tracks, and use noise isolation.

Still, sometimes one of the earbuds will start to act out. It can cut in and out for no reason, and may even lose sound altogether.

The easiest way to go about fixing this issue is by doing a hard reset

Before you decide resetting isn’t working, you have to make sure you’re doing it correctly. To ensure the process goes smoothly, you can follow these steps:

  1. Charge the Powerbeats Pro case.
  2. Open the case lid and place it next to your phone.
  3. Check the battery percentage on your phone (anything above 70% should be fine).
  4. Disconnect the Powerbeats from your phone.
  5. Ensure both earbuds are in the case.
  6. Leave the charging case lid open.
  7. Press and hold the system button for about 15 seconds.
  8. Release the button when the LED indicator flashes red.
  9. Wait until the LED indicator flashes white.
  10. Pair the device with your phone.

It’s crucial that you charge your Powerbeats Pro before the resetting process. If the battery percentage is too low, the device may turn off halfway through. Not only will this affect the resetting, but it may damage the earbuds.

After these steps, you can check to see if the earbuds are functioning well.

Why Won’t Powerbeats Pro Reset?

If you tried the resetting process with no success, you’ve come to the right place. There are a few reasons why your device won’t reset.

Battery Issues

When you lose audio in one of your earbuds, the issue could be the battery

Luckily, there’s a way for you to investigate this problem. When you connect your Powerbeats Pro to your phone, a prompt appears.

This will tell you exactly how much charge is in each earbud and the case. With this information, you can make a judgment.

Check the difference in charge between the two earbuds. If there’s a huge gap, then the batteries aren’t getting enough power.

To remedy this, you can follow these steps:

  1. Remove both earbuds from the charging case.
  2. Use a cotton swab and a little alcohol spray to clean each earbud and the case.
  3. Let the alcohol evaporate before moving on to the next step.
  4. Place the right earbud in the case and wait for the LED indicator to flash.
  5. Wait for the indicator to stop flashing and place the left earbud in the case.
  6. Close the lid and connect the case to a charger.
  7. Charge for about an hour and check the battery percentage.

If this resolves the issue, then you’re good to go. However, sometimes other factors can cause charging problems. These include:

  • The charging cable you’re using is faulty.
  • The earbuds aren’t sitting properly in the case.

After checking these aspects, if your earbuds won’t charge, contact customer service.

Firmware Issues

When you rule out charging problems, the next step is checking the device firmware. Sometimes, out-of-date firmware can cause syncing and audio issues.

To ensure your Powerbeats Pro have the latest firmware, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the app store on your phone.
  2. Download the Beats app.
  3. Pair the Powerbeats Pro with your phone.
  4. Go to the firmware tab.
  5. Check for any new updates.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the firmware.

Pin Issues

When you look inside your Powerbeats Pro charging case, you’ll find two pairs of pins. These structures are what connect the earbuds to charge them.

Any minor damage to the pin can cause the earbuds to malfunction. So, you want to examine the charging case and ensure everything looks intact.

Check that all the pins protrude at the same angle and height. If one of them isn’t in position, you may need to replace the case.
