Do AirPods make a sound when they are dying?
AirPods do make a sound when they are running out of power. The AirPods will play a sound when the battery is low and then will play another sound just before they completely run out of power.
If your AirPods are making a sound then making another sound about 20 minutes later then turning off, it is likely because the battery has run out of power.
However, AirPods won’t play a sound to tell you that the battery is in a bad condition. The only way to tell if the battery is in a bad condition would be to consider if the battery life is really short.
If the battery life is really short, it would be a sign that the battery is in a bad condition. However, it might be the case that they have not been getting charged properly in the case.

Why are my AirPods making a low battery sound despite being fully charged?
If your AirPods are making a low battery sound despite being fully charged, it could be the case that your AirPods are not actually fully charged.
If you open the case with the AirPods inside, near to your iPad or iPhone, it should display the battery percentage of the case and AirPods on the screen.
It might also be the case that you need to update your AirPods. To update your AirPods, put them in the case while it is being charged, then put an Apple device near to the case.
Otherwise, it would be a sign that there is a fault with the battery and you’re only option would be to take them to an Apple store.

To tell how much battery your AirPods have left, you can look at the Bluetooth menu on your Mac, open the notifications section on your iPhone or iPad or you can put them in the case and open the lid near to an iPhone or iPad which should then display their battery percentage on the screen.

To see the amount of battery in the case, you can put the AirPods in the case and open the case near to an iPhone or iPad which should then display the battery on the screen.
You can also open the case and look at the Bluetooth menu on a Macbook.
Alternatively, you can take the AirPods out of the case and open the lid of the case. If the light is orange, it means that the case has less than one full charge remaining.
If the light is green, it means that there is at least one full charge remaining in the case.
