Do AirPods work with Google phones?

As an owner of both AirPods and a Google phone, I was frustrated when I couldn’t get them to work together. After doing some research and testing, I’m here to share how I solved this issue, as well as other solutions I discovered.

AirPods work with Google phones like regular Bluetooth earphones. However, you won’t be able to make use of Apple specific features such as automatic switching between devices, tracking the AirPods with the Find My app, or being able to see the battery percentage of the AirPods.

If you want to use AirPod Pros, you will be able to use the transparency and noise-canceling modes by squeezing on the stems.

Do AirPods work with Google phones?

While AirPods do come with some extra features, AirPods are designed so that they can be used as regular Bluetooth earphones.

Therefore, it is possible to use AirPods with Google phones. All you need to do is to pair your AirPods with the phone’s Bluetooth by putting the AirPods in the case, opening the lid and pressing the pairing button.

However, there are some features that you will miss out on such as automatic switching between Apple devices, Siri, being able to see the battery percentage when you open the case near an iPhone or iPad and you won’t be able to track the AirPods using the Find My app that you get on iPhone.

Do AirPods work with the Google Pixel?

AirPods can be paired with Google Pixel phones like regular Bluetooth earphones. To pair them, you just need to pair them with the Bluetooth on your Google Pixel.

Does noise-cancelling and transparency mode with AirPods Pro on Google Phones?

If you are using AirPods Pro, you can use the noise-canceling and transparency modes with Google phones.

To use noise-canceling mode on AirPods Pro when using Google phones, you just need to squeeze on the stem of one of the AirPods for a few seconds until you hear a ding sound.

When you hear that sound, you should find that the sounds around you become a lot more noticeable.

When using Apple devices, it is possible to activate the noise canceling and transparent modes through the device.

However, this is not something you can do with Google phones. When using Google phones, the only way to activate noise-canceling and transparent modes is by squeezing on one of the stems of the AirPods.

What features are missing when using AirPods with Google phones?

While you can use transparency mode and noise-canceling mode on Google phones, there are a number of features that you can’t make use of that you can with an Apple device.

It won’t be possible to check the battery percentage, to track the AirPods using the “Find My” app and you won’t be able to make use of automatic switching between devices.
