A Samsung sound bar can be connected to a Vizio TV using either an HDMI or Bluetooth connection.

Connection MethodSteps
HDMI Cable1. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the soundbar’s port and the other end into the TV’s port.
2. Press the Input button on the Vizio remote and select the correct HDMI input.
3. If there’s no sound, go to Settings > Sound > Expert Settings on your Vizio remote and adjust HDMI and Digital Audio Output to PCM.
Bluetooth1. Ensure your Vizio TV model supports Bluetooth.
2. Put your Samsung soundbar into pairing mode by pressing the Source button on the soundbar or its remote until you see BT➤WAIT➤BT PAIRING on the display.
3. On your Vizio TV, go to the settings menu and select Bluetooth Headphones.
4. Choose your Samsung soundbar from the list of available devices.
TroubleshootingIssues with HDMI cable: Check for damaged or frayed HDMI cable, or dusty HDMI port. Try using another HDMI cable.

Volume too low: Ensure that the soundbar’s volume is set at an appropriate level.

How to Connect Samsung Sound Bar to Vizio TV

If you’re not satisfied with the sound quality or volume that your Vizio TV’s built-in speakers are giving you, you may want to address this by introducing an external device for audio output.

A Samsung sound bar is a great option for this. You can pair your soundbar to a Vizio TV in one of two ways:

  • A wired HDMI connection
  • A wireless Bluetooth connection

Here’s how you can connect your TV and soundbar using each of these methods:

Using an HDMI Cable

If you wish to connect your Samsung soundbar to a Vizio TV via an HDMI connection, these are the steps you’ll need to take:

First, plug one end of your HDMI cable into the port on your soundbar and the other end into the port on your TV. You’ll find these ports on the back of each device.

Next, press the Input button on the top left of your Vizio TV remote and select HDMI. Your TV is likely to have more than one HDMI port, so make sure to select the correct HDMI input.

More often than not, your soundbar will be successfully paired with your TV after you’ve gone through the above steps.

In some rare cases, you may find that your Samsung soundbar isn’t giving off any sound even though it’s paired with the TV. If this happens, here’s what you should do:

Press the Settings button on your Vizio remote. From the menu that pops up, select Sound, then Next, then Expert Settings. The final step is to go to HDMI and Digital Audio Output and adjust their setting to PCM.

Using Bluetooth

If the Vizio TV model you own is equipped with Bluetooth, then you can connect your Samsung soundbar to it without an HDMI cable.

If you’re unsure whether your model has this feature, you can check to see if there’s a Bluetooth section within your TV’s settings menu. You can also look up your TV’s manual using Vizio’s Find Your Manual Tool and check there.

If your Vizio TV does have Bluetooth, here’s what you’ll need to do to connect your soundbar to it using this feature:

First off, you’re going to want to put your Samsung soundbar into pairing mode. You can do so by pressing the Source button on your soundbar itself or on its remote until you see BT➤WAIT➤BT PAIRING on the soundbar’s display.

If you see BT READY on the display, press and hold the Source button until it switches to BT PAIRING.

Next, head over to your Vizio TV’s settings menu and select Bluetooth Headphones. You should see your Samsung soundbar in the list of devices available for pairing. Once you select it, it will be connected to your TV. If it’s not showing up, try pressing More Devices.

Why Is Your Samsung Soundbar Not Working With Vizio TV?

Here are some common reasons why your Samsung Soundbar may not be working with your Vizio TV. We’ve also included some tips on how to address each issue.

Issues With HDMI Cable

If you can’t seem to get your soundbar to connect to your Vizio TV, one thing you should check is the HDMI connection.

The issue might be that the HDMI cable you’re using is damaged or frayed. It can also be that the HDMI port is dusty, and in turn, stopping a stable connection from being established.

If this is the case, try using another HDMI cable.

Issues With Bluetooth Connection

If you’re trying to connect your sound bar and TV together via Bluetooth to no avail, this is likely due to hardware or software problems affecting one of your devices’ Bluetooth connectivity.

If your sound bar, or TV, has taken a nasty drop, or has been exposed to moisture recently, this may have damaged its Bluetooth sensors.

If your sound bar isn’t working with other devices as well, you should contact Samsung technical support for assistance.

The Volume Is Too Low

This may seem trivial, but you’d be surprised at how often it happens. Your sound bar’s connection to your Vizio TV may be working just fine, but the volume is set at a level that’s too low for you to hear the audio output.

Conclusion

If you wish to connect your Samsung sound bar to a Vizio TV, you can do so via HDMI cable or Bluetooth. However, the second option only works if your Vizio TV model supports it.

In both cases, you can enjoy your favorite content with enhanced audio quality with a few simple steps.
