How to Screen Mirror Your Android Phone on Insignia Fire TV
To wirelessly mirror your Android phone on your Insignia TV, you need to first make sure that both of them are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Once you do that, follow these steps:
- Press and hold the home button on your Insignia Fire TV remote for about three seconds. It should show a menu with various options.
- From that menu, navigate until you find the mirroring icon and click on it.
- Now go to your Android phone and open the drop-down menu (the black screen that overlays your display when you slide your finger from the top.)
- This screen has various icons, depending on the model of your phone, the screen mirroring icon will have the name “Screen Cast” or “Smart View.”
- Click on that icon and it should list down the nearby TVs that are compatible with screen mirroring.
- Select your Insignia Fire TV from that list and a prompt will show up to confirm the screen mirroring. Accept that that’s it.
How to Screen Mirror Your iPhone on Insignia Fire TV
Just like the Android phone, your iPhone should be on the same network as your TV. Make sure of that and follow these steps:
- Open the app store on your iPhone and look for an app named Mirror for Roku. Download and install that app on your iPhone.
- At this point, your Insignia Fire TV should be turned on and discoverable. To make it discoverable, navigate to the mirroring icon and click on it just like you did with the Android phone.
- Go back to your iPhone and open Roku MIrror. You should see a simple interface with a purple rectangle on top that says: No Device Connected.
- Click on that icon and an automatic search will begin. It should instantly find your TV if you’re close to it.
- Click on your Insignia TV and connect to it.
- Your phone will then ask you to “install channel on Roku”. Just click install.
- Your TV screen will change and give you the option to add a channel. Use your remote to click on that. It will load for a few seconds and then ask you to “install streamer for Roku.”
- Go back to your iPhone. A prompt will show up. Just click “done.”
- On your iPhone screen, you’ll see various options from which you can choose from. Click on the Screen Mirror.
- You’ll then see a white square that says: tap to start mirroring. Click on that and your Insignia TV will mirror your iPhone screen.
How to Screen Mirror Your Computer on Insignia Fire TV
Here’s how to mirror both Microsoft and Apple computer screens on your Insignia TV
Microsoft Windows:
The following steps are applicable on Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. The location of the options we’re about to mention may slightly vary but the process remains the same:
- Go to your computer settings. There, you should either look for ‘devices’ or ‘Bluetooth and devices.’
- From there, you should have the option to add a new device. Make sure that your Insignia TV is discoverable and click on the add new device option.
- A list will show the nearby devices. Select your Insignia TV from them.
- You may need a one-time pairing between the devices. A prompt may appear on both your computer and TV screen. Just follow the steps until the pairing is complete.
- Once you’re done, you’ll have the option to mirror your computer screen available. Just click on it and you’re done.
Apple OS:
Apple OS variations are simpler than Microsoft’s. You should have an easier time mirroring your screen by doing the following:
- Select the control center option on your taskbar. It’s located near the search and Wi-Fi icons on the taskbar.
- It will open various options for you. You’ll find screen mirroring among them.
- Click on it and it should start searching for your Insignia TV.
- Make sure that your TV is discoverable and click on it.
- Within a few seconds, your Insignia TV screen will mirror your Mac screen.
