Are AirPod Pros louder than AirPods?

As an owner of both AirPods and AirPod Pros, I decided to do some research and testing to figure out if the AirPod Pros are actually louder than the AirPods. Here, I’m going to share my experience and the finidings I’ve discovered so far.

AirPods and AirPod Pros can play sounds at similar volumes. AirPod Pros have the ability to sound louder because of the seal created by the ear tips and because of the noise canceling mode.

In practice, it does not matter so much since you’re not really meant to listen to them at max volume for extend periods of time and it is generally recommended to keep the volume at 60% or below.

Listening to AirPods at a high volume can actually have permanent effects on your hearing.

Are AirPods Pro loud enough?

As an owner of the AirPod Pros, I can tell you that they are definitely loud enough.

In fact, I would recommend that you really try to limit how often you listen to them at high volumes because of long-term risk to your hearing or developing tinnitus (a constant ringing sound in the ears that never goes away).

As someone with tinnitus, I can tell you that it is really not worth the risk and you should just keep the volume down. I can’t emphasize this enough. Please keep the volume down when listening to AirPods!
