Why Won’t My iPhone Disconnect From Apple TV?

If your iPhone does not disconnect from your Apple TV, you may be having a stubborn issue with Apple AirPlay. In that case, you can try a few things to free your iPhone from the television. The easiest way is to use the swiping method to begin.

Apple AirPlay is an amazingly efficient service that allows you to stream or mirror media between devices. If you have the feature on your iPhone, it may be connecting to your Apple TV automatically.

First, you’ll need to access the “Control Center” by swiping upward from the bottom of your screen.

You will see an “Apple AirPlay” icon that you’ll need to tap. If the iPhone is connected to it, you’ll notice that it’s blue, and you’ll see the name of your Apple TV there.

Next, you’ll need to tap “Turn Off AirPlay Mirroring.” This should stop any problems with the automatic streaming you don’t desire.

If you want your iPhone to avoid connecting to your Apple TV via AirPlay, you’ll need to go to the “Settings” menu and then tap “General.” That will bring you to a menu list where you will see “AirPlay & Handoff.” Next, you’ll see “Automatically AirPlay to TVs.” Tap that.

This is where you control whether you want that automatic connection. You’ll have the option to choose “Automatic,” “Ask,” or “Never.”

You can tap “Never” if you want to permanently prevent your iPhone from connecting to AirPlay devices automatically.
