Animations will look smoother at 60FPS because the frames are refreshing at a higher rate. The lower the frame rate, the more staggered and sluggish the animation will be. 

Action and first-person shooter games will be easier to play with a higher frame rate. It’ll cause less delay between clicking a button and seeing that action happen on the screen.

When playing on a smaller screen, using a 1080p resolution can still look good. Some devices have trouble supporting higher resolutions, so forcing it to use 4K may cause stuttering and lag. Either that or the monitor will end up just showing you 1080p anyway.

4K and 30FPS

Some games are better experienced with high-quality graphics. Such games are usually slower-paced and have beautiful or realistic environments. On that account, if you want to feel more immersed while playing, using 4K may help make it like you’re in the game yourself.

If you also think that visual clarity is important in your gameplay, then you should run your game in 4K. This could apply to simulation games where reading small texts and seeing objects that are far away are a priority.

30FPS may appear choppier than 60FPS, but if your game doesn’t require quick movement, it shouldn’t be too noticeable. It’s still a usable setting for many games.
