Can you mix AirPods?

It is possible to mix different AirPods together provided that they are both from the same generation and they are a left and a right AirPod.

To pair different AirPods together, all you need to do is to put them in the case, wait for 30 seconds, open the lid and then hold the button on the case for about 15 seconds until the light on the case flashes orange then white.

The AirPods will now be paired together. Now you can open the lid and press the button near to an iPhone or iPad and pair the AirPods to the device the normal way.

It is important that there is some charge in the AirPods when doing this and it is important to make sure that the case also has some charge. You can charge different AirPods in the same case before you pair them together.

Can you mix AirPod Pros?

It is possible to mix AirPod Pros as long as they are both from the same generation and they are a left and a right AirPod Pro.

To pair different AirPod Pros, you put them in the case, open the lid, press the button until the light flashes orange then white. After this, you can pair the AirPod Pros with devices like normal.

Can you pair AirPods from different generations?

It is not possible to pair AirPods or AirPod Pros from different generations. When pairing AirPods or AirPod Pros, they must both be from the same generation. They must also be a left and a right AirPod. You can’t pair two left AirPods or two right AirPods.

How to pair AirPods from different sets

To pair AirPods from different sets, do the following:

  1. Put them both in the case
  2. Wait for 30 seconds
  3. Open the lid
  4. Press the button on the case for 15 seconds until the light flashes orange then white

After doing this, you can now pair the AirPods with new devices. To do this you do the following:

  1. Put the AirPods in the case
  2. Open the lid
  3. Press the button
  4. Search for your AirPods on the Bluetooth of your device
  5. Click on your AirPods to pair with them
