Do you have to connect AirPods every time?

If you have or are thinking of getting AirPods or AirPods Pro, you might be wondering if they automatically connect or if you have to do it manually every time. This post will show you that you don’t need to connect your AirPods every time.

Once you have initially paired your AirPods to your devices, they should automatically connect in the future. For non-Apple devices, you may need to manually click on the AirPods in your Bluetooth settings.

For the most part, people do not have issues when getting their AirPods to automatically connect to Apple devices. However, sometimes AirPods do not automatically connect to non-Apple devices.

Do you have to connect AirPods every time?

Once you have initially paired your AirPods with your device, you will not need to re-pair your AirPods with that device again unless you reset your AirPods or forget them on your device.

Once they have been initially paired, your AirPods should automatically connect to your device when you open the case.

Apple devices have an automatic switching feature. This feature connects the AirPods to the Apple device that you are actively using.

Sometimes, it will do it without asking you and sometimes it will display a pop-up asking if you want to connect your AirPods.

For non-Apple devices such as Android, AirPods usually pair automatically after they have been paired for the first time.

However, you may have to click on them in the Bluetooth settings sometimes.

Also, if you have an Apple device nearby, your AirPods will automatically connect to that device first, so it will be necessary for you to connect to the AirPods by clicking on them on your Android’s or PC’s Bluetooth settings.

To connect your AirPods for the first time, do the following:

  1. Put them in the case with the lid open
  2. Press and hold the button on the case
